We understand the importance of proper insulation in the ingot casting process and have developed this product to help keep the heat in the block and achieve smooth and void-free ingot heads.
A well-insulated block head alone is not enough if the heat can escape upwards. To keep the heat in the block, there are two ways to do it. One is to use an exothermic cover powder. However, the alternative solution is our EXOLUP®20 cover plates.
EXOLUP®20 cover plates are exothermic plates that can be placed on the ingot mold before the casting process. Compared to traditional exothermic cover powders, our cover plates produce much less dust and release energy more slowly to the ingot head, keeping it insulated for a longer period. This results in smooth and void-free ingot heads, which is a prerequisite for good and high ingot yield after rolling and forging.
Offering several benefits, including improving the quality of the ingot heads, reducing the risk of defects, and increasing the yield of the steel block. Additionally, our product is easy to handle, reducing the risk of work-related injuries and improving the efficiency of the casting process.
